Unlocking Pets is very simple in Diablo 4. Complete the “Faithful Companion” quest, interact with the well behaved dog, and equip your pets.
Your adventurer life in Sanctuary is just about to get a lot more convenient. Pets make their grand return to Diablo IV, after their popularity surged in Diablo III. Once again you can venture around with a cute doggo or kitty, which are also useful since they pick up materials for you.
Unlocking Pets is easy! Note that more Pets will be available in the future; some are unlocked by pre-purchasing the Vessel of Hatred expansion.
How to Unlock Pets in Diablo IV: 3 helppoa vaihetta
1. Complete The “Faithful Companion” Quest
The “Faithful Companion” quest will take you to Kyovashad, the main city. You’ll want to look for a marker on your map labeled “Well-Behaved Dog”. While the location can vary slightly, you can usually find it in the northwest part of the city.
You might not be able to see the marker at first glance. Don’t be afraid to zoom into the map and poke around since this marker might be smaller than the average. You’ll find a friendly dog near some houses or in a quiet corner.
2. Interact with The Dog
Once you’ve found the dog, move close to it. The dog might start to bark or wag its tail to grab your attention. Depending on the platform you’re playing on, you’ll use the interact button to pet the dog. From there you’ll see a prompt on the screen that confirms the interaction.
Petting the dog will show you a short animation showing the completion of the “Faithful Companion” quest. You’ll receive a notification that should pop up indicating the pet feature is now unlocked.
3. Equip Your Pet
Once you’ve unlocked the pet feature, go to any major city like Kyovashad to find a wardrobe. Wardrobes are tall and have mirrors and are often found near the Stash (where you store your items) or inside taverns or inns.
Interacting with the wardrobe after completing this quest should reveal a new “Pets” tab. Browse through the available pets and once you’ve found the one right for you, confirm your choice. The pet will appear alongside your character, following you on your adventures.
Onnittelut! The Pet is not only cute, but also useful. It gathers all crafting materials for you, and even Aberrant Cinders, which is especially handy during Helltide.
Note: You can always "interact" with your Pet by bringing up the radial menu and pressing "Hello" when close to it!
Hope you will have a better time adventuring in Sanctuary now, with the new Diablo IV Pets.
